Hi everyone,
It is that time again. With rehearsals beginning next week, we are looking for parents to help chaperone. For the first month or so, we will ask for volunteers. Closer to the performance dates we will assign each family to specific rehearsals.
What is wrangling?
Wrangling is assisting the directors with keeping the kids quiet and focused on learning. Any parent that has completed the Virtus training can wrangle. There is no need to have any kind of musical experience. We are all parents. That is all the experience that you need. Remember that if you are not wrangling, you will be asked to not be in the room while rehearsal is going on. Wrangling is a great way to get a sneak peek every now and then.
We will be using the library, classrooms and occasionally the parish center for rehearsals. It's important to remember that food/gum is not allowed during rehearsals. Children may bring a water bottle if needed. We are not allowed to play with items in the classrooms* and everything should be put back the way we found it before we leave for the evening.
The number of kids at each practice will determine the number of wranglers needed. We will also need some parents from each age group, Kindergarten - 4th grade and 5th grade - 8th grade.
Here is a list for the first 3 weeks of practice of the number of parents needed. Please let me know if you can help at one of these practices.

K-4th grade: 4 parents

K-4th grade: 3 parents
5-8th grade: none needed
Wednesday, December 17th
K-4th grade: 2 parents
5-8th grade: none needed

*Classroom items that should not be touched includes things like teacher’s desks, smart boards, blackboards/chalk/erasers, inside children’s desks, paper/crayons/markers/scissors/glue/pencils that belong to the classroom, personal items/furniture, classroom materials that are in view and accessible, items in cabinets or bookshelves, classroom games/toys. During these early rehearsals all the children should be engaged in learning songs or where to stand for a scene and should not have much down time.
